A Sustainability strategy is just as critical in 2021 as it was in 2015
In 2015, a research paper found that firms who invest in ESG outperformed their peers in risk-adjusted stock price performance, sales growth and profitability. What was clear about this finding is that firms didn't just invest in anything ESG or the latest trend; the investment needed to be strategically important for their business.
In 2021, the data is still the same; investing in ESG yields results; however, those benefits are only realised with a strategy designed to the needs of the business.
